Holes, cracks, water stains, anchor damage — drywall repair is quick work to do and slow work to do invisibly. The difference is in the finish: texture and paint blended so the wall reads as one surface.
How we repair drywall
Small punctures get proper backing and a three-coat finish, feathered wide. Larger openings get cut back to framing, patched with matched-thickness board, taped and finished flat. Recurring cracks — the ones over doorways and at ceiling corners that come back every year — get mesh reinforcement and a flexible approach, because the house moves and the repair should tolerate it.
Texture matching is where patches usually fail, so it’s where we spend the time: orange peel, knockdown, hand trowel, or the smooth-wall finish in older plaster homes (we patch plaster too, with the right materials for it). Then primer and paint feathered past the repair, matched from your paint code when we have it on record.
Water-stained ceilings get an honest sequence: confirm the leak is dead first, then seal, patch, and repaint — never paint over a live problem. Patches, not whole-room re-sheeting; a room that needs new walls end-to-end is a project we’d scope separately and say so.
